How Does the RockyMounts AfterParty Swing Away Bike Rack Fit on a 2021 Jeep Wrangler 4xe- Video
Hi everyone, Aiden here at Etrailer and today we're gonna be taking a look at the RockyMounts AfterParty Platform Style Bike Rack, and we're gonna see how it fits on the back of our 2021 Jeep Wrangler 4xe. Now the AfterParty is gonna be a really nice, high-end bike rack, but most importantly, I think, is that it's gonna work great with our Wrangler here because it has a swing away arm. So we can open this a full 90 degrees and allow the tailgate on the Jeep to open properly, something that really can't be said for a lot of other bike racks. So let's start by checking that out. Underneath the rack, there's going to be a blue lever that you can pull out and loosen up, and this is gonna be the thing that keeps that arm stable, and from rattling around, you'll get to a point with this where you can hear that the bolt has unthreaded. It kinda makes that clicking noise. more

Today, we have a 2024 Jeep Wrangler 4xe and we're gonna be taking a look at and I'm gonna show you some of the cool details on the Kuat NV 2.0, more specifically when paired with the Kuat Pivot 2. Our Kuat NV 2.0 is gonna be this gloss black section here. This is our bike rack, and then our Pivot 2 is going to be the Swing Away Base. And the reason why I'm doing this fit with the Kuat on the Pivot is because that's the only way that you're gonna get to use all the functions on your Kuat bike rack, is if you use it with the Pivot base. Just to show you real quick, one of the best benefits of using the Pivot Swing Away Base with a bike rack, whether it's the Kuat or another one, is you can pull that lever and you can swing your entire bike assembly away. more

Swagman XTC2 TILT 2 Bike Rack Review - 2023 Jeep Wagoneer L- Video
How's it going, neighbors This is Ed here with etrailer.com, and we're taking a look at that Swagman XTC on the back of our 2023 Jeep Wagoneer, L edition, long wheel base. So let's take a look at this carry. The XTC2 TILT bike carrier is a frame mount carrier. So a frame mount is gonna make contact with your frame as well as locking down onto your wheels on the front and rear. In this particular setup, they're using straps and cradles. If you have a carbon fiber bike, a bike with a nice paint job that you don't want contact or any type of unconventional frame, like a step-through bike, this isn't gonna be the best option for you. more

How's it going, neighbors This is Ed here with etrailer.com and we're gonna take a look at the RockyMounts AfterParty on the back of our 2023 Jeep Wagoneer L. So, the AfterParty is a wheel-mounted bike carrier, and what's really cool about that is the fact that it does not make contact with your bike's frame. This is gonna be more for your person that has either a carbon fiber bike or a bike that has a fancy paint job, step through bike, something with an unconventional frame. Because you make contact on the front and rear wheel and there's no need to secure your bike by the frame, it leaves it wide open to many types of bikes. As far as what it will support, your weight can go all the way up to 60 pounds per bike. Your wheel base can be supported up to 55 inches. more

Hollywood Racks Destination 4 Bike Platform Rack Review - 2023 Jeep Wagoneer L- Video
Good morning neighbors. This is Ed here with etrailer.com and we're taking a look at our Hollywood Racks Destination four bike carrier on the back of our 2023 Jeep Wagoneer L. So the Destination is a four bike carrier that is a frame mount style. On the frame mount, you're gonna have a center mast that makes contact with your frame as well as two straps that secure your front and rear wheel. If you have a carbon fiber bike or a bike that's a step through frame or maybe even a kid's bike, generally these guys aren't the best options. Going with a wheel mount carrier may work well, but if you have a bike that's 35 pounds and under and a maximum wheel base of 48 inches, this guy will work for you. more

How's it going neighbors This is Ed here. Taking a look at our Yakima OnRamp on our 2023 Jeep Wagoneer L. The OnRamp is a frame mount mounted bike carrier. So a frame mounted carrier is gonna have a center mast and a contact point with somewhere on your frame. If you have a carbon fiber bike or a bike that is a unconventional frame, this may not be the best option for you. You may wanna lean more towards a wheel mounted option. more

Hi Matt with etrailer, and today we're gonna be talking about the Kuat Piston Pro X bike rack on our 2023 Jeep Wagoneer L. Now this gonna be a great option for you if you need to haul a variety of different types of bikes being from your carbon frame to your heavy E-bikes and you wanna do it safely having your built in lights installed too. What's gonna give it that ability to hold your carbon and alternative frame bikes is gonna be this dual wheel mount system we have on here and that's just gonna ratchet onto each tire and we're not gonna get any of that frame contact. We're also gonna have a 67 pound weight capacity per bike holding up the two of them. So we're gonna be able to hold those heavy E-bikes too. And we're gonna have a tote weight feature too. more

Yakima FullTilt 5 Bike Rack Review - 2023 Jeep Wagoneer L- Video
Hi Matt with etrailer and today, we're gonna talk about our Yakima full tilt bike rack on our 2023 Jeep Wagoneer L. Now this is gonna be a great option for you if you wanna haul a lot of bikes, especially since this is a larger vehicle and you'll be able to take a lot of people with you to go out riding. So the way our bike's gonna sit on here, we're gonna have three points of contact. We're gonna have one of these zip straps that connect to the rear of the frame, and then we're gonna have two up top, and our frame's also gonna rest on these two arms. Now since we are making frame contact, I wouldn't recommend using any alternative or carbon frame bikes on here. But if you do have an alternative frame bike, you can still put it up here, you'll just need a bike adapter bar, and the way it's just gonna sit up here is just like this. more

Hollywood Racks Hitch Bike Racks Review - 2020 Jeep Grand Cherokee- Video
How's it going, this is Ed here with etrailer.com, and we're taking a look at the Hollywood Racks Destination four-bike carrier on the 2020 Jeep Grand Cherokee. The Destination is a four-bike platform carrier, and as far as being a carrier, is one of the better values to move four bikes. It is a frame mount where you're gonna have contact with your bike's frame, and then you have two straps along with the cradles that are gonna tie down to keep your wheels and everything stable. As far as how close you get to the vehicle with the bike on the closest position, you can kind of see with my handlebar here, I'm pretty close. Rocking it right here, I wouldn't be worried about it making contact, but it's something to definitely consider when you're making your purchase as far as the length of your handlebars. So let's take this guy off and take a closer look. more

This is gonna be a very minimalistic bike rack, though, where you have your basic features and ideal for people that don't wanna spend extra for features they may not need. So the Destination four is actually one of my favorite bike racks to recommend for people just getting into the bike rack world because it's very versatile, it's very lightweight, it's very compact, and it can carry most types of bikes. Now it does have its downsides too where it has a 35 pound per bike weight capacity. So if you have a heavy electric bike, this might not be the best fit for you, but if you're looking for something that is not super duper large, but has the stability of a platform rack, this is a great option to look at. Now we are missing out on a feature here, which is gonna be the tilt away feature. more

This bike rack can hold up the two bikes, 70 pounds each, which means it can carry those e-bikes. Another thing to note is four strap down points, and this fourth one up here is making contact with our frames. So unfortunately, we won't be able to use any carbon framed bikes, and it'll also be able to carry a lot of other bike shapes and sizes. Now, the Envy 2.0 is going to be a platform style bike rack able to accommodate up to two bikes with an individual weight capacity of 60 pound per bike. It does come with a tilt away feature but as we've discovered with a lot of the bike racks we have tried on our Wagoneer, it doesn't actually tilt far enough or aggressively enough for our hatch to clear our pedals and our handlebars. So, we'll give you a look at that real quick, just show you what that would look like. So, there is a handle here in the middle that we're gonna just go ahead and pull which allows us to tilt our bike rack away. more

But main thing with the Jeep Wrangler Unlimited is you have a spare tire. So most bike racks will need the expansion hitch adapter or the hitch extender, which is what we currently have installed. more

RockyMounts GuideRail 2 Bike Rack Review - 2021 Jeep Grand Cherokee- Video
How's it going, everyone It's Ethan here at etrailer. Today we're gonna be taking a look at the RockyMounts GuideRail on our 2021 Jeep Grand Cherokee. The GuideRail is a two-bike platform style bike rack, capable of supporting two bikes up to 60 pounds each, held primarily by these dual wheel mounts up either side, which is nice 'cause it avoids any framed contact, so if you we're using a carbon frame bike or an alternative frame style bike, that would be good in this case. One thing I like about this rack is that it does have a pretty aggressive tilt. So as far as any of the racks we tested today, this is the one that tilts the furthest away that I've seen and it gives us plenty of clearance to get into our cargo area in the back of our car, and plenty of room back here in the event that you wanna take a seat after your ride, change your shoes or get something out of the back. So tilting our bike rack back up, you'll hear a click and that's how you know it's in place. more

Hello neighbors, it's Brad here at etrailer and today we're taking a look at the Hollywood Rack Sport Rider SE two bike platform style bike rack for electric bikes. But that's not to say that it's not gonna work with normal bikes and today it's gonna be on a 2022 Jeep Grand Cherokee L. It's no surprise that e-bikes have definitely become more and more popular and as the years kind of go on I can only imagine it's gonna become even bigger. So one of the downsides with e-bikes at least currently now, is they are pretty heavy. So you do need a bike rack that's going to accompany that weight. And this one is actually pretty highly rated at 80 pounds per bike. more

Now this is going to be a great choice if you have two electric bikes that you're wanting to take out on the trail with your Jeep Gladiator and still being able to not have to worry about how heavy electric bikes get. One big thing that I wanna show off right off the bat is how it's able to handle working with heavier bikes and taking them off. Now as you can see, it has a mechanism here that is actually used with your wiring. It is going to be plugging in right into the back of your Jeep Gladiator. Now it is a slow process, but whenever you have heavy bikes, like say up to 60 pounds, you're gonna want that. more

Today we're going to be taking a look at the Kuat Piston Pro four bike rack on our 2021 Jeep Gladiator. Now if you have a Jeep Gladiator, you most likely have a lot of your equipment and a lot of your stuff in the back of your bed. Or you may have a Tonneau cover like this. So it's gonna be a little bit tougher to get your bikes in the back of your bed whenever you're doing things like maybe you're going hiking as well or you need all of your stuff in the back. So this is a great choice. Whenever you have a 40 pound weight capacity and the ability to carry four bikes along with it being able to use the wiring that comes with your Jeep Gladiator, it is going to be a great choice. more

Hi there, Jeep owners. Today on your 2019 Jeep Grand Cherokee we're gonna be taking a look at Curt's Two Bike Platform Rack. And this rack you can see here is gonna be a two bike platform-style rack which means your wheels will be supported in the cradles for both the driver and passenger side for your front and back wheel. And then it's secured in place on top with our hook here. And this is a pretty quick and easy way to get your bike strapped up. Hey everyone, how's it going Today, we're gonna be going over the Yakima StageTwo bike rack here on our 2021 Jeep Gladiator. So this particular rack here is gonna be a two bike rack allowing us to carry up to two bikes. Now, keep in mind, this rack is also available in a four bike version as well. So either you have the two bike and you wanna purchase the add-on to carry up to four bikes or you just purchase the four bike rack outta the gate. Keep in mind, if you purchase the four bike rack outta the gate, you can always take the outermost two trays off to have a two bike. Now, in regards to colors, we're gonna have a nice gray color here, which is what we see installed on our Gladiator today. more

Hey everyone. How's it going Today we're gonna be going over the Kuat Piston Pro X 2-bike rack here on our 2021 Jeep Gladiator. Now there's a few different types of bike rack options on the market, the two main ones being hanging style and platform style. So this is obviously a platform style. A hanging bike rack, they're still great options, typically a lot more cost-effective than the platform style, but they're much harder to lift your bikes up and on to, and they don't allow you really to carry bikes over 35 pounds. So with the platform-style racks here, all you do is have to lift your bikes up to the wheel trace here. more

This is designed for your extra heavy electric bikes and we'll take a look at how it fits here on our 2021 Jeep Gladiator. Our focus here today is just to talk about how this works with the truck and the features, and it has a lot of cool features, but the feature that impressed me the most is the tilt-away. We have this knob right over here. You're gonna wanna rotate that knob where it's just loose enough to push out and when you push out, let's see, not loose enough there, and when you push this out, it's gonna stay there. So it is currently ready to tilt it away, but when you have your extra heavy electric bikes there, you may wanna, you know, prepare yourself, get yourself ready. more

Hey everybody, Ryan here at etrailer. Today on our 2022 Jeep Wrangler 4xE we're going to be checking out the Thule Hitching Post Pro Hitch Mounted Bike Rack. First impressions of the rack on the back of the Jeep. I'm glad it fits! A lot of times you run into issues with accessories not fitting because of the spare tire in the back. And especially this one looks a little bit beefier to me than kind of the standard-sized ones. And we've got quite a bit of space to work with still here. more

If you want to take two bikes to and fro the trail, without having to worry about those heavier and bulkier bike racks. Now going over some of the features, considering this is a more affordable bike rack it's not gonna have some of the features you may know with other platform styles. Like the tilt-away. It doesn't have that. more

This is gonna be a great bike rack if you need to get your heavier set bikes or maybe your thicker bikes to and from the trail or the campsite safely and effectively. Now let's take a closer look at some of the specs that make this a great choice for you, especially if you need something to help you get the bike off. Now, this is going to have a 66 pound weight capacity which is going to be great for a large amount of bikes including your electric bikes and your mountain bikes that are on the heavier side. It's also gonna have a 50 inch wheel base. And with that, it's going to be able to handle larger bikes like this, which some 48 inch wheel base sometimes goes over the side or you have a little trouble moving it back and forth. more

So when it comes to what kind of bikes can it hold, and some of the specs, I definitely like that it's a 60 pound weight capacity. So that's gonna hold up to some of your heavier electric bikes, which is something that's really nice whenever you see how much it weighs. more

Kuat Hitch Bike Racks Review - 2019 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited- Video
Hi everyone, John here, and today we're gonna be taking a look at the Kuat Sherpa 2.0 2-bike rack on our 2019 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited. This is going to be a great bike rack if you've got road bikes and mountain bikes that you want to get to the trail and have with a friend, I do recommend though keeping in mind that it has a 40-pound weight capacity, so it will be able to handle road bikes, mountain bikes that fit that, but your heavier fat-tire bikes and electric bikes will not be able to be used. Along with having a 47-inch wheel base, so that gives you a good amount of space. Let's take a closer look and see some of the features that this gives you whenever you're trying to get your bikes to the trail. Now, the first feature I want to show you with the Sherpa is the tilt away. This has one of the best tilt-away systems, in my opinion especially for a one bike. more

Saris MHS Modular 2 Bike Rack Review - 2017 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited- Video
Hey everyone, Charles here at etrailer, and today, we're taking a look at the Saris MHS Modular Bike Rack on a 2017 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited. This is your platform-style rack that is gonna be held on by both tires, so it's gonna be great for a lot of different size, shapes, and style frames, especially, those carbon fiber frames where a frame mount might warp or damage it. A couple quick things about this rack with this vehicle, we're not gonna be able to utilize the tilt down feature to access our hatch, even if we took the bike off, the spare wheel is still gonna run into that, and we're not gonna be able to fold this up either, because of the spare tire there. But if you wanna continue learning about this bike rack, we are gonna get into that as well as a recommendation towards the end of the video. So this is gonna be made out of steel and aluminum, it's gonna be lighter weight and durable. It's finished with a black powder coat, making it rust resistant. more

Hey everybody, how's it going Today we're gonna be going over the Thule Hitching Post Pro for bike racks here on a 2022 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited. So the Thule Hitching Post Pro is gonna be an excellent bike rack option for you and the family because it allows you to carry up to four bikes. Now there's really two main styles of bike racks on the market and that's platform and hanging. So this is a hanging style rack and what hanging style racks do really well is number one, they're very cost effective, certainly when you compare them to the platform counterpart. And number two, they're much lighter weight than those platform style racks. So they're a lot easier to get on and off the vehicle. more

And since it is a front wheel Mount it makes it great for your carbon frame bikes as it won't warp or damage the frame. So pretty much any bike as long as it doesn't have a fender. more

Thule Hitching Post Pro Hitch Bike Racks Review - 2022 Jeep Wagoneer- Video
Hey everybody, how's it going Today, we're gonna be going over the Thule Hitching Post Pro four-bike rack here on our 2022 Jeep Wagoneer. So this is what our bike rack is gonna look like on our Wagoneer here. Now, granted, we only have one bike installed but just sort of looking at the rear view window there, I would say you're gonna have most of your visibility there, looks like the handlebars and the seat posts are gonna stick up a little bit but you still have your side mirrors as well, so you're really not forgoing any safety features. The reverse camera, however, probably not gonna be too operational, but let's face it, that's gonna be the case for any bike rack with bikes we have on the back of this vehicle, you're simply just not gonna be able to use the reverse camera or at least very well. So there's really only two styles of hitch-mounted bike racks, the hanging-style, which is what we have here, and the platform style. Now, each of these do things a little bit better than the other. more

Everyone Charles here at etrailer, and today we're taking a look at the Swagman XC2 on the 2021 Jeep Gladiator. So this is your fixed platform style rack, that's gonna allow you to carry up to two bikes with 35 pounds per bike. It's not gonna be the best for your carbon frame. As you can see, it's gonna be mounted on by the frame, so if you have your carbon frames, it might whoop or damage that. This is your fixed platform style rack, that is gonna allow you to carry two bikes, up to 35 pounds per bike. And this is a great entry level bike rack, especially if you don't ride too often. more

RockyMounts Hitch Bike Racks Review - 2021 Jeep Gladiator- Video
Hey everyone, Charles here at etrailer. And today we're taking a look at the RockyMounts MonoRail solo bike rack on the 2021 Jeep gladiator. This is a great rack to use for almost any type of bike you have that's under 60 pounds, except for maybe those with a fender, but otherwise this is gonna do the job. I love its simplicity and ease of use by highlighting the touch points right here in blue. To tilt it away, I'm simply just gonna support the whole rack here by the frame and pull this lever and tilt it away. And on this Jeep Gladiator, It is gonna touch this part right here. more

Hollywood Racks Hitch Bike Racks Review - 2021 Jeep Gladiator HLY84FR- Video
Hey everyone, Charles here at etrailer and today we're taking a look at the Hollywood Rack Sport Rider SE2 for the 2021 Jeep Gladiator. So this is your great heavy duty bike rack that's awesome for your heavy bikes and your electric bikes as it can carry up to 80 pounds per tray. It is made out of a galvanized steel that makes it very durable and finished with a black powder coat, making it rust-resistant. One of the features that I like is the tilt-away feature. And to do that, I'm just gonna remove this pin here and pull on this knob, giving me access to the bed of my truck to grab anything I need. Locks back into place when I lift it up, then I'm just gonna reinsert the pin. more
